SOUTH WEST COASTAL PATH – is accessed at the end of the lane, crossing the road to a bramble footpath leading onto the route for the South West Coastal Path – Signpost and Grid reference: Map Grid Ref. SW 8433 6668 Footpath Grid Ref: 845 666.
1.5 miles east from the post towards Padstow, will take you via Mawgan Porth village and past the many hotels to Carnewas and Bedruthen Steps. Onwards towards Padstow you will find the Trevose Bay Head and Lighthouse. With many bays along the way, the rugged coastline lends itself to a variety of birds and stunning views of the coast and headline.
1 Mile west from the post will take you to Watergate Bay with its outstanding mile long beach, popular with surfers and dog walkers with eateries in abundance. Onwards towards Porth Beach and Newquay.
Mawgan Porth – King Surf and Betty’s Surf Shop can arrange for surf lessons and equipment along with purchasing goods.
Watergate Bay – O’Neills Surf Academy, Watergate Bay Surf Shop and Extreme Surf all offer surf lessons at varied prices, equipment hire and goods to purchase. Trevarrian Lodge has a discount offer if accommodation is booked at the same time as booking lessons, please mention this when booking.

Newquay offers a variety of attractions Newquay Zoo, Blue Reef Aquarium, Boat trips & Sea Safari’s, Beaches: Fistral, Towcan, Porth Beach, numerous shops, bars, restaurants and café’s offering a variety of different tastes.
Padstow just 8 miles away has a delightful town and harbour, with Rick Stein’s shops, café’s and pubs in abundance. A passenger ferry offers trips across to nearby Rock with sandy beach, pubs and restaurants – The Rock Inn, No 1 Rock Road and Nathan Outlaw’s ‘The Mariners’ to name but a few.
Familiy attractions include: Hollywell Bay, Dairyland, Lappa Valley and Camel Creek family amusement parks, The Seal Sanctuary and The Screech Owl Sanctuaries are all only short drives away.
